The 53 member CAF (African Football Confederation) , (French: Confédération Africaine de Football) , (Arabic: الإتحاد الأفريقى لكرة القدم‎) represents international football in Africa, and organises the African Cup of Nations, African Nations Championship CAF Confederation Cup and the African Champions League. The confederation was founded in 1957, and received a guaranteed berth in the World Cup for the first time in 1970. The CAF annually presents the African Footballer of the Year award.

CAF also organises the UEFA/CAF Meridian Cup with UEFA for youth teams.

There are 10 CAF Nations that participate in the UAFA organised Arab Nations Cup. These are Algeria, Comoros, Djibouti, Egypt, Libya, Mauritania, Morocco, Somalia, Sudan and Tunisia.

CAF is subdivided in six regional zones.
